Beaumont Adams Revolver c. 1860

This page describes this percussion revolver which I will be parting with shortly.

There is plenty of information about the Adams revolvers, but here is a brief description. It is in .44 cal, with a side loading lever along the barrel. The sights are rudimentary, and it has 5 chambers. It is said to be the world's first revolver which can be fired both double or single action. In fact Colt is said to have closed their London office during the Adams heyday.

In the long video, I mention that the powder charge is 27.5 grn of "modern" powder. I should have actually said "modern BLACK powder". Definitely NOT modern nitro powder. At that load, I chronographed it at 500fps with a 160grn .458 ball.

There are two clips, the long version covers loading and discharging, and the short version is bigger, but only covers discharging.
